We process limited personal data to operate the service, review and publish event submissions, send requested alerts, and protect the website against abuse and technical issues.

What We
Collect

We collect only the data needed to operate ArcheryCalendar and provide the features you use.

  • Event submissions — contact name, contact email, and the event details you provide, such as event name, venue, date, registration link, entry fee, description, or categories
  • Competition alerts — your email address and selected alert preferences or filters
  • Direct messages — your email address and message content if you contact us
  • Server logs — IP address, browser or user agent, requested pages, and timestamps for security and technical operation
  • Cookies or local storage — limited data needed for core functionality, such as planner selections or essential preferences

We do not require user registration to browse the Site.

How We
Use It

We use data only for purposes connected to the operation of ArcheryCalendar.

  • To review, moderate, and publish event submissions
  • To contact submitters if clarification or verification is needed
  • To send competition alert emails you requested
  • To secure the website, investigate abuse, and troubleshoot issues
  • To provide planner functionality and iCal export features
  • To comply with legal obligations or defend legal claims where necessary

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it for third-party advertising purposes.

Legal
Basis

Under the GDPR, we process personal data only where we have a valid legal basis.

Depending on the feature, this may include:

  • Contract necessity — for example when you request alerts or submit an event for review
  • Legitimate interests — for site security, moderation, operation, and abuse prevention
  • Consent — where required, especially for optional analytics or non-essential cookies if those are introduced
  • Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information under applicable law

Event
Submissions

When you use the Submit Event form, we process your contact name and email address to review the submission, verify information, and communicate with you if needed.

Your contact email is not intended to be published as part of the public listing unless you intentionally include it in the public event content.

We may edit submitted information for formatting, clarity, category consistency, or language presentation before publication.

Email
Alerts

If you subscribe to Competition Alerts, we store your email address and selected preferences in order to send you relevant event notifications.

Alerts are opt-in. Every alert email should contain an unsubscribe option. You can stop receiving alerts at any time.

If we ever offer separate promotional newsletters beyond core alert functionality, those will be handled through separate and clear consent where required.

Cookies
and Storage

We use only limited storage and cookies necessary for core functionality, such as security protections, session handling, essential preferences, or planner-related storage.

If optional analytics, marketing cookies, or embedded third-party services are ever introduced, they should be activated only with appropriate user choice where legally required.

You may also see local browser storage used for features such as event planner selections or iCal export preparation.

Sharing and
Processors

We do not sell personal data.

We may share data with service providers that help us operate the website, such as hosting providers, email delivery providers, security services, or analytics providers if enabled.

These providers act on our behalf and should process data only as needed to provide their services. Where required, we use data processing agreements with them.

Processors used by ArcheryCalendar: [Insert your actual vendor list here, for example hosting provider, email provider, CDN/security provider, analytics provider if used.]

International
Transfers

We prefer that personal data is processed within the EEA.

If any personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on legally recognized safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, together with supplementary protections where necessary.

Any relevant transfer details should be reflected in the processor information for the services we use.

Data
Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

  • Public event listing data — until 24 months after event end, with optional limited archival of non-personal event information
  • Submitter contact data — typically deleted or anonymized within 12 months after event end
  • Alert subscription data — kept until you unsubscribe, with limited suppression records retained to respect opt-outs
  • Support messages — usually kept for 24 months
  • Server logs — usually retained for 90 days unless required longer for incident investigation

Your
Rights

If you are in the EU or otherwise protected by applicable privacy law, you may have the right to request:

  • Access to your personal data
  • Correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion of data
  • Restriction of processing
  • Portability of data where applicable
  • Objection to certain processing
  • Withdrawal of consent where consent is the legal basis

To exercise your rights, contact us at dpo@tomisko.anonaddy.com or through the About page.

Security

We implement technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risks involved, including HTTPS, access controls, patching, backups, monitoring, and abuse protections where feasible.

No website or online transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the data we process.

Children
and Automated Decisions

ArcheryCalendar is not intended to knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 where consent is required for online services.

We do not use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on users.
